Wood is a versatile and timeless material that has been used for centuries in various applications, from building construction to furniture making. When it comes to using wood, one crucial consideration is its moisture content. Sundry and kiln-dried wood are two common options, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Understanding the difference between them can help you make an informed decision for your specific needs.

Sundry Wood:

Sundry wood, as the name suggests, is seasoned by the sun and air. This process involves stacking and exposing freshly cut wood to natural environmental conditions for an extended period, typically several months to a year. During this time, the sun and wind help reduce the moisture content of the wood.

Kiln-Dried Wood:

In contrast, kiln-dried wood is subjected to a controlled drying process in a specialized oven or kiln. This method involves carefully monitoring and adjusting temperature, humidity, and airflow to reduce the moisture content in a controlled environment.
